A Garden on its way

Peter's Tool Shed, A Gardener's paradise
Shed

After we came back we decided to start our farming ideas and test the water by offering Tracie's dad Peter to start a garden in his yard. So, far he's been excited if a little trepidatious about having a garden again. He claims "that's not really my thing" but you never know until you try. His father used to keep a small kitchen garden in the same space, so we're all excited to be able to bring back a little history to the space.

Tracie and I headed over to New Jersey a few weeks ago and spent a few days with Peter prepping the yard and trimming trees that might block out the light. In the course of doing so we discovered the pattern and progression of light in the backyard, that Peter has enough gardening tools to host a small volunteer public works event, that we have more space than we need, and that working together can be a lot more fun than sitting round a table bitching about life. We're excited to be doing something and maybe, just maybe get someone excited about it too.

I guess it is more fun when you have good company to work with. Peter's dad did had a beautiful garden in the back. He planted Chinese vegetables. Like I said before I had a brown thumb whatever plant I touched It turns brown. My mom is good with plants. Also I have back pain so bending for a long period of time does not excite me. I am looking forward to see your garden grow so we can have fresh vegetables for dinner.
